CAMBRIDGE STUD Owned by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan, Cambridge Stud was established in 1975 and is widely considered as one of New Zealand’s finest thoroughbred nurseries. The property occupies over 1000 acres and has stood some of the greatest stallions of all time including Sir Tristram, Zabeel and now the new sensation, Tavistock.
THE OAKS STUD The Oaks Stud property was purchased in 2002 by Queenslander Dick Karreman and has quickly become one of the finest thoroughbred studs in Australasia. The Oaks Stud is proud to be the home of champion sire Darci Brahma as well as recently welcoming the new stallion Niagara.
WINDSOR PARK STUD Located near Cambridge, Windsor Park Stud has been synonymous over the years with producing elite Group 1 winners including the world champion stayer, Might & Power. The current crop of stallions includes two-time Horse of the Year, Mongolian Khan, as well as well as Rip Van Winkle and Falkirk.
PENCARROW STUD Established by Sir Peter Vela, Pencarrow Stud has an outstanding history of achieving thoroughbred racing’s highest honours on the world stage. It has been home to some of the country’s finest thoroughbred broodmares and yearlings, most notably Ethereal who won the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup.
RICH HILL STUD Rich Hill Stud was founded in 1994 and has become a show piece property of 320 acres situated in the fertile Waikato basin. Some of the stallions that currently stand at Rich Hill include Jimmy Choux, Shocking and Pentire – sire of the 2015 Melbourne Cup winner, Prince of Penzance.
WAIKATO STUD Waikato Stud is a world-renowned thoroughbred nursery dedicated to the breeding, rearing and preparing thoroughbreds. The stud has been responsible for over 30 Group 1 winners including New Zealand’s first Group 1 winner in Europe – Starcraft. Some of their current stallions include Savabeel, Sacred Falls and Ocean Park.
