Day 1, Thursday 19 October BRISBANE – TENTERFIELD
Depart Brisbane and travel by coach to Stanthorpe, which is set in the heart of the Granite Belt. A region nationally recognised for its winemaking and diversity of produce. Upon arrival enjoy a brief tour before enjoying lunch at the Brass Monkey Brew House, which is one of the many microbreweries in this area. After lunch continue on to Tenterfield, a town of monumental history and heritage and is known as the birthplace of Australia after Sir Henry Parkes’ famous 1889 speech. Accommodation: Tenterfield
Day 2, Friday 20 October TENTERFIELD
After a leisurely morning in Tenterfield travel a short distance to Ballandean, which is renowned for its picturesque setting, and the Granite Belt’s largest number of award winning winemakers. After visiting various places of interest, lunch will be at the Ballandean Estate winery in the Barrel Room Café alongside the huge old working barrels which are filled with ageing Liqueur Muscat and Port. Day 3, Saturday 21 October TENTERFIELD – STANTHORPE | Race Day
Mid-morning transfer to Queensland’s wine capital for a day of country racing. The Stanthorpe Cup, run at Armstrong Park, has established a firm place on the annual social calendar for locals and visitors alike. The mix of keen racing, fashion, marquee lunches and the chance to sample some of Queensland’s finest wines are key elements of this big day out. Day 4, Sunday 22 October TENTERFIELD – BRISBANE
After breakfast begin your return journey travelling via Killarney, which is one of the scenic gems of South East Queensland. Visit the spectacular waterfall at the Queen Mary Falls National Park and then continue on to Spring Creek Mountain Cafe for lunch which has spectacular mountain views that will take your breath away. Return back to Brisbane late afternoon.
